A Nice "Shell Out" Night

On Friday, I went out my colleagues (8 of us including me) to celebrate birthday for our April babies.

One of the birthday girl suggested Shell Out @ Sunway Giza as we have heard of some good reviews majority of us have not been there. So we decided to give it a try, even tho we know that the price may not be that friendly to our pocket.

One of the thing that caught my attention was the plastic apron that they supplied to all their customer which read as "Life is too short to be serious....LET'S EAT". I find it adorable....don't ask me why... haha

As we dig thru their menu, personally I find that their price is indeed kinda pricey. An average crab would cost you around RM 70-ish and most of the shell food that they have are priced by grams.

This is how you order their food:

Step 1: Choose your seafood - Crab, King Prawns, Crawfish, Clam, Green Mussel, Giant Scallop, Bamboo Clam, Octopus Canadian Lobster and King Crab Leg

Step 2: Choose your sauce - Lemon Pepper, Butter Garlic, Shell Bang, Black Pepper and Curry Curry

Step 3: Choose your spice level - Mild, Medium or OMG (extreme spicy)

Step 4: Add-ons - Brocolli, Corn, Potato and Sausages

After a few rounds of "what do you fancy here?", "What are you craving for?" and a typical answer of "Up to you, I'm fine with anything", we decided on the following:

Crawfish (which is every's favourite) in Shell Bang sauce (their recommended)
King prawns in Butter Garlic sauce - add brocolli & corn
Bamboo clam in Lemon Pepper sauce (if I'm not mistaken)
Clam (lala) in Curry Curry sauce
Gant Scallop in Butter Garlic sauce
-  Fried chicken wings
-  Fries
Crawfish in Butter Garlic sauce (round 2)
Clam (lala) in Shell Bang sauce (round 2) - add corn

Out of those, my personal favourite was Crawfish (or they call it as Yabbies...for whatever reasons), Clam and Chicken Wings.
I would recommend their Shell Bang sauce and Butter Garlic sauce. Both taste good with any of the seafood.
As for the other sauce, well.....to me they are just ok.....meh.... nothing great, but that's just me.

They don't provide you with plates or cutlery, tho you can request for it.
When the food arrived, the waiter just poured everything at the middle of the table and everyone just literally dig-in.
Personally, that should be the way how we should enjoy our seafood - no cutlery, no plates and etc....just raw!

Our total bill was about RM 750-ish - inclusive of drinks, GST and other tax.
If you asked me, will I go back to Shell Out, I won't frequent that place because I'm sure I can easily get a better seafood else where BUT.....
I would want to bring AK there.....just for the experience.... :)

Took me a while to remain calm......

This weekend has been a series of angry drama with people who has bad attitude and yet in service line. What a joke !

Now that my tenant has finally moved out, until I find a new tenant, I decided to use it use that place as my weekend place or a place for me to whine down.

First thing first, call me superstitious b*tch but I ain't gonna use his mattress even tho he appears to be someone neat, clean and very well mannered. Stilll........ nah....not gonna happen.

So I bought a new mattress and it was delivered on Friday. I thought I will have a great, relaxing weekend at my new place. I got the handyman to fix the sliding window, maid to wash and scrub every inch of the place. I sent all the curtain for wash and I bought new bedsheet, pillows and bolsters.....all ready to have a nice and enjoyable weekend at my condo for the very first time since I bought it in 2012.

Well.....life can be quite bitchy when you least expect it.....

3 main incidents that sent me off to Mars over the weekend:

Incident 1:
When the handyman came for the repair work, I didn't know that I need to fill in some forms to inform the management office. The guard did not allowed them in, so I have to settle it with the management office first. The moment I spoke to their building manager, my temperature raised and I nearly got into an arguement with her. Each time she opened her mouth, she raised her voice and tried to intimidate you. She said I need to fill in form 3 days in advance if I want to do any renovation work.

I showed her my annoyed face and told her off firmly that this is not a renovation work. It's just a simple repair work. I asked her, if you considered changing the wheel of a glass panel is renovation, then you gotta be kidding me.

She mellowed down a bit and I started to talk to her nicely, not wanting to create a scene there.

*Breathe in.......Breathe out*

Incident 2:
The mattress that they delivered was so hard. I knew for a fact that I'm renting out the place, so there is no need for a good and expensive mattress. But due to my back issues, I burst my initial budget and get a reasonably good mattress, just for the comfort and the softness of the mattress. I was sooooo disappointed when I tried it out on Friday night.

So we went to see the sales person on Saturday to asked her, if they have delivered the wrong mattress. Now that she has sealed the deal, her tone was not entirely that helpful and friendly anymore. She told us, new mattress are meant to be hard and it will get soften after a week or 2. I told her, I can accept if it's slightly on the harder side but NOT THIS HARD. She go on and on and on about how many mattress she sold out and none of her customer complained except us. That really pissed both me and AK off, as thought we have never bought any mattress before. I told her off directly:

Me: I have bought 1 mattress from you guys before and it was entirely fine. This is NOT my first mattress. You told me, different price will gives different experience and now you are telling me this? *roll my eyes*
Salesgirl: Aiyo "si-tau" (boss), new things are like that. New car, the door will be more difficult to close also mah. After 1 or 2 weeks, it will be fine one ah...trust me, i sold so many of this model and all my customer never complain also.... *sigh and annoyed face*
Me: What if it doesn't get softer? What assurance can you give? *looking straight at her*
Salesgirl: Aiyah....it won't one la....it will be soft one. This is a showroom unit, that's why it's soft coz hundreds of people has slept on it. If you want this softness, I give you showunit one lor...

At this point, I'm totally pissed...

Me: *raised my voice* The reason why I bought this is for the comfort and you assured me that this model are softer. I TOLD YOU specifically, I don't want it to be too hard. I don't think I can accept this....
AK: *shouting at her* I thought you guys can be trusted becoz of our first experience. Get your lorry and bring back the mattress and you give us back our money NOW!
Salesgirl: *shocked* "si-tau", you cannot say like this. We did not deliver the wrong thing to you, we cannot refund you. Don't be like that la..... *trying to manja*
AK: NO! TAKE IT BACK THIS INSTANT. What nonsense is this?

Her boss step-in and asked her to get someone to go to our place and check it out. If it is faulty, they will exchange a new one for us. Ok...fine. What other options do we have but to go home and wait.....

Incident 3:
Since it's a Saturday and the monoric management office is close at 1, I decided to called up the building manager to inform her that I might have a delivery later. Just to be sure that we wont have further hiccups. So I called her....

Me: Hi, I need to inform you that I might have a delivery today because they delivered a faulty mattress to me yesterday.
Building Mgr: MESTI isi borang, tak isi tak boleh masuk ! *started to raise her voice*
Me: *calmly* I'm outside now, I can't fill in the form and you guys will be close in an hours time
Building Mgr: Kenapa tak isi earlier? No permit tak boleh masuk ! *at the top of her annoying voice*
Me: *Pissed and raised my voice* How would I know if they will deliver a faulty mattress to me? How to predict this and fill in an additional form for a faulty products !!!!"
Building Idiot: U ada isi form yesterday tak ! ada tak ?
Me: YES !
Building Idiot: *shouting at her clerk* Itu unit xxxxx, ada isi form tak semalam? cari sekarang....I cakap SEKARANG!!!!!!
*Back to the phone* I call you back ..... I check dulu
Me : ok.... *put down the phone*

Few minutes later

Building Idiot: Hello....ok boleh masuk.
Me: Ok...sure ah. Semalam dia orang cakap guard tak kasi masuk....
Idiot: I dah cakap.... BOLEH....BOLEHHH.... sudah kasi TAU!!! *shouting*
Me: *Shouting at her* U listen to me here ! I don't like your attitude ! I have tolerate you since yesterday.... you have SERIOUS ATTITUDE problem !!
Idiot: Apa...apa.... I memang cakap macam ni....
Me: Then !! Control and talk nicely, tak boleh? If you continue like this...I'm gonna complain you!
Idiot: Nak complain....complain la. *put down the phone*
Me: *speechless*

I spent the whole afternoon trying to locate contacts or email to complain her. But unfortunately, there is no channel for me to reah out to another one to complain about the management office. They provided an email address for residents to complain but I'm sure it will be screened thru by that b*tch. So it's pointless....

I searched thru their residents committee member list but there are no details on how to contact them. Since they are not employed under any specific Property Management group, I can't write any complain to their HQ. Perhaps that is why she can be so loud because there 's no information out there for residents to complain about them. Well.....guess I have to wait till the resident's meeting.....provided if there is any......

I shall wait....and I WILL attend.... I'm not letting this go that easily.....

Just you wait.... you chose the wrong b*tch to mess with.....let's see who is the bigger B*TCH !!

I'm officially "tenant-less" again.....

I rented out to this family for close to 5 months and I was really pleased with them. The husband is an engineer and his wife is a housewife with a 4-5 years old son. Initially I was hesitated to rent out to them, fearing the fact that his son will use my wall as his drawing groound but everything turns out really good. They took care of the place very well, they decorated and made the place feel so "homey" and warm. Best part is, they pay bills ON TIME!! As compare to my previous tenants, phew....don't get me started.

I was a bit disappointed when he told me he is planning to up-root his family to another country. He asked me if I'm interested to purchase some of his furniture at a special price and well.......I agreed. I took most of his furniture and major appliances such as TV, dining table, bedroom set, wardrobe and etc, hoping to rent out to my next tenant as a fully furnished unit.

Finally the day came and he moved out around mid of the month. So now that the place is empty, time for me to fix some loose end, replenished what is missing and trying to put some warmth into the place so that it is furnished enough to stay, at least for now.

Well, I'm gonna miss having them to take care of my place and yet pay for my monthly installment.
Hopefully my next tetant will not give me headache like the previous 2.....

My Useless Big Boss.....

P.S: This post will be about me ranting over my big boss.... you might want to skip this if you are looking for something positive to read.....

This conversation happened like early this week...

Colleague: Are there any difference between a leader and a boss?
Me : YES!! Of cuzzzz!!!
Colleague : Aren't they both the same, like another term for your manager, boss or your leader?
Me : NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Colleague : *shocked* okkkk.....didn't know you will have such a big reaction over this topic.... okok....I get it. So, is our big boss a leader or boss?
Me : A boss who have  no ballz.....period
Colleague : Ok....I totally agree on the "no ballz" part....regardless he is a boss or leader.....

We both had a great laugh.....

Yes, I have an indian boss who is from India and as far as I can remembered, I have never hold any grudge against anyone as much as I have towards him. If you asked me, I have zero respect towards him, not because I'm being racist but it's his way of managing his people.

He is someone who does not have a firm stand. Like how the locals would bluntly put it - he speaks according to the wind.
When the wind is blowing to the east, he would bring his whole team to the east. When the wind starts to blow towards the west, he will drive his whole team to the west. Whenever there's an issue/problem, he would just throw his people out and fend it off from him. To him, as long as his own interests are well taken care of, the rest is the least of his concern. Coward right?

At work, he would speak highly on doing the right thing in front of us. Asking us to do our due diligent to ensure we obliged to the rules and re-enforce our processes. When problem comes and people approached him, he would then agreed with them and asked us to support the request, even tho it is not the right thing to do. His explaination is - we have to be flexible towards situation and the needs of our customer. I'm like WTH??????

He likes to inject fear or intimidate his staff so that you lose your confidence to challenge his decisions. He would only groom his "blue eye boy/girl". For every small little thing they do, he would ensure everyone in his management team is well informed. As for the rest of the unfortunate soul, no matter how great you have performed, all your hard work would be swept under the carpet and remain hidden. On top of that, he would belittled you bit by bit, to a point that you start to question yourself, was that a true achievement or am I too naive to over-intepret something normal as a great achievement....

For instance, last month his blue eye girl got a simple compliment from our internal stakeholder. He immediately forward out that message to all his management team and he wrote a very long and powerful recognition and compliment on top of that message. From his message, everyone could tell he is very proud of her achievement.

However, when my colleague got a compliment from external customer, he just forwarded out the message to us without a single word. Personally, I think a good leader would at least try to inspire and acknowledge the great job that his team has done, regardless he/she is your favourite pet or not. I believe every manager practise favourtism. But the very least he could have done is to write a simple message such as:

"Hi ms so-and-so,
Good job and well done...keep up the good work...."

Is that so difficult? Well, he prefer to write nothing....
My colleague was soooo disappointed.....I would if I'm her.

Oh well...... I would always tell myself, if I'm in a bad situation, I have 2 choices- it's either I change myself to adapt to the situation or I turn my back and walk away from the situation.
So I shall......the moment I have secure another opportunity, I won't even bother to re-consider my option to stay...
I'm sure you would do the same if you were me.... ermm..... perhaps..... *shrug*

Good Night people.... ^_^
Thanks for reading......

P.S: Please pardon my choice of words, my tenses and the way I structure my words. It's 11.17 pm and my mind is already shutting down. I just wanna vent out my frustration before I sleep....somehow I feel that it helps.....

Bow Wow Cafe @ Puchong....Tezel's First Visit

Last Friday night was the first time I took Tezel to Bow Wow cafe, located opposite of IOI Boulevard.
It's the nearest pet friendly cafe that I could bring Tezel to....apart from private park at Desa Park City which is abt 35 mins drive from home (without jam).

I have to say that the place was well decorated they have decorated and the sitting arrangement that they have setup gives you a warm and cozy feeling.
It's a place where you can enjoy the company of your 2 legged and as well as 4 legged friends.
When we got in, Tezel was the only dog on the entire floor, so he was getting all the attention from the staff and the fellow patrons of that cafe. Kids were chasing him around and he was busy sniffing and exploring the new place. One rule they have for all pet owners - all male dogs must wear diapers, else you have to purchse from them. This is to ensure the cleanliness of the place....which I think it's a fair request to expect.

P.S: Both artistic photos were taken from Google, none of it were taken by me....... =.=

Another 4 legged friend spotted.....
Cakes on display....not sure if it's for sales...

The above 3 photos were taken by me when my partner were busy chasing Tezel around ^_^

I ordered 1 chocolate with caramel milkshake with 1 chocholate larva cake and that itself cost me RM30.
Both were nice - thick, chocolatey and rich but if you ask me, personally I think their price is a bit pricey.

I could get similar stuff at a cheaper price elsewhere but I guess it won't be a fair comparison to compare them with a normal cafe.
Oh well....overall, I am pretty satisfied with their service and warming greetings to welcome you and your furkids

If you ask me, will I come again with Tezel?
I would say...... yupp, we will..... ^_^

Catch-up Session with my old Bestie....

I went back to my hometown this weekend for some prayers.
Right after prayers, I called up my bestie whom I have known since my second job.
I got to know her (yes, she is that "L" word) like more than a decade ago and ever since we came out to each other at work, we became close friends....

We used to do stuff like chatting by the beach/water dam, drove around the city at night, hang out at the night market and etc...
Even tho she is not really a "nature person" and I'm not really a "city person", we manage to compromise and hang out with each other pretty well.....
We have been around for each other thru our break-ups, new found love, helping each other to impress our new targets and such...
So, I missed her a lot ever since I moved down to KL.....

I have been wanting to watch "Deadpool" since Chinese New Year but I could not really firmed up any plans till now.
Like always, I called her up...

Me: Hey you....are you free?
Bestie : Yes....wanna do lunch?
Me: Not good, need to have lunch with my parents.... u want dinner or after dinner?
Bestie : fine with either... we can go after dinner if you need to have dinner with parents....
Me : Then after dinner would be better. Btw, have you watched Deadpool?
Bestie : No....I haven't. Heard that it's kinda funny and badass....
Me : *checking GSC and TGV app.....* Hey.... let's go catch a movie around 4pm and then we have dinner together....
Bestie : Sure...I'll go get ready
Me : Ok....pick u up at 3 then.... see u

Yupp, that's our usual que....on the spot plan and go....minimal planning and spontaneous excitement... haha.
Guess that is why at times we ended up doing nothing but sitting by the road side, admiring the traffic while she light a ciggy...
It's never bothered us on we are doing, it's more of spending some time together....
For instance, I know she's not a big fan of horror movie (unlike me) but she would just go for it coz I liked it....
I'm not a big fan of seafood, watches, pendant and stuff but I would spend the whole evening, hopping from 1 shop to the other with her.... I missed those times.....

Deadpool was funny as hell....
Ryan Reynold really pulled this character thru very well....cheeky, funny and...yes....badass
It's not like the typical super hero movies where, villians cause chaos, superhero fight the bad guys and save the day...
As for Deadpool.... he's a "superhero" in his own funny way.... haha
We enjoyed the dirty jokes, sarcasm and all his cheeky stunt throught out the whole movie.....

After movie, we had sandwich and pizza for dinner and we had a long chat about work and personal life....

Classical view of the walk way in Chew Jetty
Awesome view of the fishing boat @ Chew Jetty

PS: Again, both awesome photos are not my credit to claim as I took them from Google search... It was too dark to get a nice photo when we were there....

After dinner, we drove to Weld Quay to check out Chew Jetty.
This is my second time here (my first time was during CNY, had intention to blog abt it but it is still saved as a draft copy. Crap....I really need to dicipline myself to finish off my Draft copy) and both of us enjoyed the view as we walked further into the...erm... "village/resident-ish" perhaps....can't think of a word for it but basically it's a straight path surrounded by houses built on top of the sea.

View-wise : checked.... nice and it brings back memories of how my grandma's home used to look like....those olden design and structure...

Smell-wise : ugh..... those sea and fishy smell may not be the best smell ever.... meh

Entrace to Lee Jetty.....
Wooden walk-way out in the sea @ Lee Jetty
"Floating" temple view from Lee Jetty
Childhood Ice Lollies

PS: None of the photos above....again, sadly not my own masterpiece. It is taken from Google search... ya ya ya, I know... I'll snap my own photo next time..... :P

After Chew Jetty, we walked further along Weld Quay to Lee Jetty and we bought 2 of our childhood ice lollies.
It is nothing but frozen flavoured syrup in a plastic tube. Those were the days when simple things like this would gave us so much joy. Unlike the kids now, pampered with multiple choices of ice cream, frozen yogurt, milkshakes with all sorts of toppings but yet they are complaining about lack of choices.... be grateful, you Gen-Z spoilt brats !!

AT Lee Jetty, one of the highlights that I like is the wooden walk-way that is setup out into the sea.
It's pretty windy and chilly as you stand on the plank and enjoyed the nicely light-up view of the "floating temple".
Both of us stood there for some time, talking about the memories we shared in our previous company.
Last night was mainly a "walk down memory lane" kinda get together where we talked about things that happened 13 or 14 years ago such as funny gossips about our bosses, office politics and "interesting" customers that we met along the way.

It was indeed a good night catching up those good old day again....
I'm gonna miss this when I'm back in KL, when I'm back to do my crappy work for my useless boss on Monday....

Well, one of my 2016 resolution is to shop whining about my work and snap out of it.....so I'm going to make sure I do that...
Good night people and good night 5-March-2016....

My New Toy....tee heee....

I have always wanted to get a tablet, so much that each time I entered Machines (Apple authorized dealer) or Samsung store, I would always spent at least 5 to 10 minutes admiring their new tablet. It is something nice to have but it's not something that I really need.

Finally on 27 Feb 2016, I bought myself a tablet that I have been eyeing on for months. Why? This is why.....

I was able to resist the urge to get a table till the moment my partner got his new iphone. That is when I started to have this "itch" inside me which pushes me around to get a new tablet. I know at some point I need to get a new phone because my current phone (a 3 years old Samsung Note 3) has been pretty laggy and problematic. I thought instead of getting a decent phone which would cost me about RM2.6K to RM3K, having a tablet to supplement my current phone would be a sensible option.

So wah lah.... that is how I get myself a new toy to play with. After playing it for a while, I came to a few conclusions

Pros:
-   It's bigger and more value for money as compare to phone - closest gadget that can operate as a phone-wannabe
-   Its best media for reading news, e-books/magazines and etc
-   Screen is big enough to display more content in a single view - less scrolling up-down/left-right

Cons:
-   Size does matter - difficult to bring around

Oh well, regardless of the size, I'm still happy with my new toy. It has been a while since I get something expensive for myself... woo hoo....

Will try to update here more frequent, now that I can do so on my bed instead of sitting in front of my PC or trying to type long text using my phone. Till next time......
